What can I do when updating the desktop app fails?

Due to renewed server certificates, automatic updates no longer work for Threema for Desktop 1.2.43 (Lütispitz) and older versions. If you are using Threema for Desktop 1.2.43 (Lütispitz) or older, please update the application manually by downloading the current version from the download section.

If the error message “Search for Updates Failed” appears, the desktop app could not be updated. This error message usually appears if it wasn’t possible to check for updates due to network issues.

If the error message appears despite an existing Internet connection, please update the app manually by downloading and installing the newest version: https://threema.ch/download

(If the error message still appears, please check your network connection.)
