In medical facilities, the requirements for data protection and security in digital communication are particularly high. To enable healthcare professionals to easily and confidentially exchange information, Threema has partnered with HIN to provide the framework for their messenger service, HIN Talk.
Mobile communication has become more important in the healthcare sector: employees need to exchange information quickly and easily, even when they are not sitting at a desktop computer. Although instant messaging is ideal for low-threshold communication, conventional services such as WhatsApp are not suitable for use in medical facilities. Professionals bound by confidentiality require trustworthy and secure solutions that reliably protect sensitive patient data and meet data protection requirements.
To address this gap in the Swiss healthcare system, Threema and Health Info Net (HIN) have formed a strategic partnership. As of now, HIN Talk, HIN’s messaging solution, will be powered by Threema technology.
HIN is committed to secure communication in the healthcare sector and provides solutions to protect patient data in the digital world. Its messaging service, HIN Talk, is now based on Threema OnPrem, the self-hosted version of the business messenger Threema Work. This ensures that sensitive data remains in Switzerland, strengthening the digital sovereignty of the healthcare industry.
Currently, the messaging app is available for the exchange of information within and between organizations. In the future, it will also enable communication between healthcare professionals and patients.
HIN Talk allows healthcare professionals to quickly and securely send messages, files, images, and videos, and hold audio and video conferences for quick coordination. Since patient data can be transmitted securely and displayed directly in the app, specialist consultations (consiliums) are simplified further.
HIN Talk is available to healthcare and social services professionals as part of their HIN membership.
