What is the CRT regulation, and who does it affect?
The CRT (Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones) has introduced a mandatory registration requirement for mobile phone lines in Mexico. Starting January 9, 2026, every line – whether personal or business – must be registered to an identified user. This affects individuals and businesses who use a mobile phone with a SIM card in Mexico.
